We loved serving this couple because we have known Jon’s parents for many years.  Kristen is the perfect addition to their family and has become a good friend of ours. Tradition and culture were the themes of their wedding. Since Kristen’s mom’s side of the family is Italian, they did a wedding ribbon cutting ceremony as the bride exited her childhood home to meet her groom.  She also wore a garter that her mother and grandmother had worn on their wedding day. They cut their wedding cake with the same knife used for her grandparents’ wedding. The ring bearer pillow was made from the bride’s wedding dress, and the bridal bouquet was wrapped in that same dress.

They met in college and had mutual business classes and both belonged to a business fraternity.  But they didn’t actually start dating until they were both working in downtown Cincinnati.  They met for lunch one day and also met at group events after work.  At one event (Opening Day-a Cincinnati tradition that kicks off the baseball season). Jonathan asked Kristen if she’d like to go to the Reds game on the following day.  As he relayed it, “the rest was history”.

Kristen says she loves how silly his jokes are and how he keeps life fun.  Jon says he loves how thoughtful she is and the many ways that she shows him she is thinking of him.

We enjoyed spending the day with Kristen and Jonathan’s families and with them, of course! We wish them many years of marital bliss!
